An accident

I haven't really had a lot of accidents in my life, there were some situations in which I was in a little bit of danger but it wasn't something truly important, most of those times were due to me being unconscious of what was coming, not being careful when doing something or other people not acting in the right way.

However there was a time in which it reallt seemed as I was going to get seriosly injured: 10 years ago I was walking on the pavement with my mother at night as we were heading home when we saw the lights from a car ahead of us, walking confidently as there was nothing wrong there we saw how the car was getting closer not only to us but to the paviment itself and my mother started worrying and covered me just in case something was wrong. Indeed, something wasn't right here, my mother caught me as we jumped to the street in a try to avoid the car which crashed with the wall, if it wasn't for her we could have died there.

With the car now stopped we got a closer view and saw the driver seemingly unconscious, we called Emergencies and when they came we understood why we were almost run over by the car: it turned out that the driver was drunk. The police got all the driver's data and ensured we were safe after letting us go home that night.

After that we returned home safe and heard that the driver had recovered from the accident although I can say the same for his car since he had to spend all the money helping to fix the wall, but at least nobody got critically injured that night.
