Organising Parts

A paragraph is the central unit of academic writing, much like the cells tha compose a lifeform; a paragraph can be a text on its own or be a small part in a bigger text dividing it into different ideas, thoughts or arguments revolving the same core topic; but for a paragraph to be coherent its different ideas must be organised, otherwise the message couldn't be properly delivered.

For the paragraph to be valid its idea must be expressed within the first sentence without being too general or specific, just the right way to make the following topics develop as naturally as possible. A paragraph is usually composed of a topic and a controlling idea, a reason, one or more supporting points and an example.

Paragraphs can also be linked by connectors refering to the previous/following ones (however, despite, as mentioned, etc.) building upon the coherence of the text itself refering to recurring ideas to give more consistency to the main topic and make the overall structure much more striking.
